For support staff

You help patients in a way that no-one else does – a natter as you book their appointment, a chat about what they want for dinner as you bring their lunch, or just a simple exchange of weather talk while you bring them their medication. Small things maybe, but they make a big impact on how patients think and feel about their care.

By letting them know that physical activity is an essential part of their medical care, and assuring them that it’s perfectly safe, you can make an even bigger difference – not only to their current symptoms, but also their outcomes. Just something as simple as “I heard that moving a bit really helps with your illness – worth asking the doctor about it?”, or giving them a copy of our patient guide could transform their lives.
